First Degree Awarded


 
Charles Arnold was the first graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism in 1909, followed by the first female graduate, Mary Gentry Paxton (later Keeley), in 1910. Both received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism because the Bachelor of Journalism was not offered until 1913.
