|
The Press Congress of the World met at the Pan-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco and elected Dean Walter Williams as president. The congress was a sequel to the World Press Parliament that Williams organized for the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Williams served as president for 10 years, presiding over the next congress in Hawaii in 1921. He became the organization's lifetime honorary president in 1926.
