First PhD in Journalism Awarded

The world's first doctor of philosophy in journalism was awarded to Robert Lloyd Housman, BJ '22, MA '25. His dissertation was titled "Early Montana Territorial Journalism as a Reflection of the American Frontier in the New Northwest."
