Morning Missourian Launched
The Columbia Missourian switched from afternoon to morning delivery on Sept. 10. Dean Earl English has originally opposed the switch, fearing that students would abandon coursework for "all-night vigils" working on the newspaper. The switch was made, however, even though the printers threatened to quit because of the morning schedule.
The tools (top) and the press (bottom) stayed the same, but the Columbia Missourian switched from an afternoon to morning paper. Delivery boys and girls (center) were replaced with adult carriers because of the early schedule.
