Major ABC News Show Headlined J-Week
ABC "Nightline" anchor Ted Koppel hosted a special presentation to a packed house in Jesse Auditorium during the annual Journalism Week activities. The panelists, who led a discussion about whether the press was too superficial in campaign coverage, included former presidential candidates John Anderson and Jerry Brown; Lyn Nofziger, former adviser to President Reagan; Haynes Johnson, BJ '52, former Washington Post columnist; David Brinkley, ABC News correspondent; and Bill Moyers, CBS News analyst.
Ted Koppel (top) worked with KOMU staffers on the broadcast, including Bob Tucker, BJ '83: "When the broadcast was over, there were a handful of us who got to sit down and do a one-on-one small group Q&A with Ted Koppel," Tucker said. "That was pretty inspiring." ABC News staffers arrived at Columbia (Mo.) Regional Airport with former California governor Jerry Brown (bottom).
