Advertising Department Revamped

After a series of retirements, the advertising department launched a new era with several new faculty members and a new core curriculum. Before students could take advanced advertising courses, they were required to complete six basic courses, including Advertising Principles, Advertising Media, Introduction to Selling for the Mass Media, Graphics, and Advertising Copy and Layout.

The new advertising faculty included Kurt Wildermuth, Birgit Wassmuth, Guy Tunnicliffe, Jack Prince and Henry Hager (top). In the classroom, students learned advertising sales techniques (center, with Robert Humphreys) and advertising layout (bottom) at the Columbia Missourian.
