Walter Williams Promoted St. Louis World's Fair
|
In preparation for the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, Walter Williams, the fair's commissioner to the foreign press, spent nine months traveling around the world on a promotions tour. He persuaded the International Congress of Press Associations to hold its 1904 meeting in St. Louis, producing some 5,000 journalists representing 37 nations and every state in the Union.
