Columbia, Mo. (Dec. 5, 2007) -- What will take place during the 2008 centennial-dedication celebration? How can I book a hotel room? How do I reconnect with other alumni? Answers to these and other questions about the 2008 centennial-dedication celebration are now answered on the official Web site dedicated to the event.

On Sept. 10-12, 2008, the Missouri School of Journalism will celebrate its centennial and will look to the future by officially opening the doors of the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute, the think tank and research operation for journalism of the 21st century.

This one-stop resource will house all 2008 updates as they are announced in the coming months. Users will be able to access the information by topic, by the latest news headlines or by the frequently asked questions section.

The major sections of the Web site include:

  • Hotel/Travel: Book one of Columbia's more than 3,500 hotel rooms and make other travel plans.

  • Event Schedule: Browse the variety of day and night activities offered during the three-day celebration, which will include the dedication of the new home of the Reynolds Journalism Institute, technological demonstrations, journalism roundtables, social gatherings and more.

  • 2008 News: Read about the special activities and events that will highlight the celebration.

  • Alumni: Reconnect with classmates by submitting class notes and alumni profiles, and find out more about planning or attending class reunions during the 2008 celebration.

  • Giving: Learn ways to support the School as it continues its campaign to establish a $100 million endowment by its 100th year.

  • Registration: The registration feature will be available in the spring of 2008. Sign up to receive the 2008 e-updates for more information.

  • Historical Timeline: Browse the Centennial Timeline, a decade-by-decade look at the world's first school of journalism featuring more than 150 historical photos and facts.
