Degree and Year: BJ '92 Company: Wilson-Grand Communications Title: Producer City and State: Alexandria, Va.
I am a political consultant to Republicans for local, state and federal offices across the nation. I write, film and produce television ads; write, record and produce radio ads; as well as design newspaper and Internet ads for them. How did you get your job? I met my bosses while volunteering at Missouri Boys State. They persuaded me to leave my job as a producer at KSDK-TV to become a producer for them. Best professional lesson learned at the J-School? Learn everyone's job in the newsroom and treat all your co-workers with respect. It takes every person to get a newscast on the air. What would be your best advice to current students? Work as hard as you can on your resume tape. Take criticism from peers and professors in the vein it's intended and use it to make yourself better. What did you want to be as a kid? As a kid, I wanted to be an actress.
