What do you do?
I manage site launches and redesigns for epicurious.com, concierge.com, men.style.com, self.com and several other Conde Nast Web sites. I also have nearly completed a Master of Science in Management with a focus on Information Management.

How did you get your job?
I have experience working on the online sites of Fox Sports, Fox News and Fox.

Best professional lesson learned at the J-School?
I didn't know what to call it at the time, but now I know it's called "networking." The most important thing at the J-School are the students around you. They will be your future contacts for jobs, stories, promotions, etc. The second lesson I learned is that working hard by itself won't get you anywhere. You have to be working towards a goal.

What would be your best advice to current students?
Get to know your fellow students very well. Be professional, do good work, and other people will notice it. They will remember you when they need someone in the future. Focus on getting experience that will help you get a job. Find people inside and outside the J-School who have connections at companies. Talk to working journalists and ask them how they got their jobs.

What is your secret to success?
Be dependable.
