Degree and Year: BJ '93, MA '95 (Advertising) Company: Nike Sports Korea Co., Ltd. Company Web Site: http://www.nike.co.kr/ Title: Digital Marketing Team Manager City and State: Seoul, Korea How did you get your job? A headhunting firm called me one day and suggested I apply for the position. With just one interview with my current boss, I got the job. Best professional lesson learned at the J-School? Grading guidelines for all assignments. Once you figure out where your points are being taken off and understand how to take care of them, you'll be ok in the field. Another lesson was Professor Henry Hager's, to practice your presentation 10 times. It really works. What would be your best advice to current students? Think big and be open minded. What are you working on currently? Several digital marketing campaigns; nike.co.kr seasonal update, annual online media plan, Nikefootball site seasonal update, running campaign, and winter campaign. Right now, the biggest thing ahead is a photo shoot in Australia for a winter promotion. What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement? Award from New York Festivals, one of the most well known international advertising award. What makes you good at your job? Education, international experience and most of all, self-motivation. Where would you most like to work? Why? Anywhere I can practice active consumer marketing in an international working environment, or where I can be a liaison between my country and other countries. What are your next career steps? Promotion, definitely. What is something about you that might surprise people? People expect me to be very westernized because of my "Made In U.S.A." college degree, but their assumptions often go away once they see me indulging in very traditional/local stuff, especially foods.
