Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Awards: How to Enter
Judging In ProgressJudges are now beginning to sort through entries to the Missouri Lifestyle Journalism Awards' 48th annual contest. Entries this year came from some "old faithfuls" in the newspaper industry, and from some newspapers new to our game. A preliminary review of entries shows that while the business model is changing, journalism content is as strong as ever. We hope to announce winners at the beginning of May. Reporting CategoriesThe reporter categories include single story, series/special section, arts/entertainment (excluding reviews), consumer, fashion/design, food/nutrition, health/fitness, multiculturalism, and best short feature (1000 words max). Judges look for excellence in reporting and writing. Reporters, staff or local freelance, may enter more than one category or more than one article in any category, but there must be a different entry form and fee for each. Send UNMOUNTED tearsheets or clips, including any sidebars and infographics, with the publication date clearly visible. Photocopies are acceptable. Please print out entry form and staple to upper left hand corner of the first tearsheet. Remember! Contest entries must have been published between Sept. 1, 2006 and Aug. 31, 2007. Send TWO COPIES of each article, with an entry form attached to each pair. You may enter several stories in one category and the same story in more than one category, but please use separate entry forms. Each entry requires a separate fee.
