The Journalism Arch represents the link to the Columbia community that for nearly 100 years has supported the life and work of journalism students. Through the arch is The District, the downtown area where students cover news during the day and relax at night by eating at Shakespeare's Pizza, studying at Cherry Street Artisan or drinking coffee at Lakota Coffee Shop. But the arch has a history - legend says that if students talk underneath the arch, they will have bad luck on their next test.
