Columbia, Mo. (March 10, 2004) -- Twenty-seven Magazine Club students from the Missouri School of Journalism visited 17 magazines on a recent trip to New York.

Kalsey Higley, president of Magazine Club, said that the group plans the annual trip so that "students can get a better understanding of the New York magazine industry and also to network with editors and alumni working in Manhattan."

Magazine companies the club visited were:

  • BusinessWeek
  • Cosmo Girl
  • Elle
  • ESPN The Magazine
  • Esquire
  • Fitness
  • Glamour
  • Good Housekeeping
  • Jane
  • Ladies Home Journal
  • Marie Claire
  • Maxim
  • Out
  • Real Simple
  • Stuff
  • Vanity Fair

The club also attended an alumni reception held at the Bloomberg on Park Avenue. The reception gave members the opportunity to meet and network with Missouri alumni who work in the New York metropolitan area.

Faculty members who accompanied the students were Mary Kay Blakely, Judy Bolch, Scott Fosdick and Jennifer Moeller.
