Internships for Journalism-Emphasis Area Students

“Journalism-emphasis area students” are those who have begun taking the core courses in their emphasis area and generally are juniors and seniors. Pre-journalism and pre-emphasis area students are those who have not started the core courses in their emphasis area and generally are freshmen and sophomores.

Number of Credit Hours

Effective FS2006, students may earn up to three credit hours for internships.

How These Hours Count Toward Degree Requirements

Internship hours count as journalism electives.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, you must have completed at least one semester in a emphasis area in the School of Journalism; you must be a student in good academic standing; and your internship must be pre-approved through Journalism Advising.
