In her role as senior director of development at the Missouri School of Journalism, KIMBERLY LAKIN MIZE works on the School’s fund-raising efforts to support students, faculty, facilities, programs and the endowment. Prior to joining the School of Journalism, she directed the Regional Programs division of the Office of Development at the University of Missouri - Columbia. Before joining MU in 2002, Mize created and directed the President’s Council at National Public Radio (NPR) in Washington, D.C. Earlier in her career, Mize managed the membership programs at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Mo., and directed events and promotions at the Kansas City Zoo. In 1990, Mize began her development career at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. She is a graduate of Stephens College.
