STEPHANIE CRAFT is an associate professor at the Missouri School of Journalism. Before earning a doctorate in communication from Stanford University, she worked as a newspaper journalist in California, Arkansas and Washington. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree in history from Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focuses on press practices and performance, journalism ethics and the role of journalism in a democracy. Her work has appeared in a number of refereed journals, including Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, the Journal of Mass Media Ethics, Mass Communication & Society, Communication Law & Policy, the Howard Journal of Communication, and the International Journal of Public Opinion Research.
