3 Missouri Journalism Faculty Honored for Longevity and Accomplishments
Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin and Interim Provost Ken Dean Presented the Awards
Columbia, Mo. (Jan. 5, 2015) — Three Missouri School of Journalism professors were among the University of Missouri faculty recently honored for their work and service.
Sandra Davidson was one of three who received a Curators Teaching Professorship, one of the most prestigious titles granted in the UM system. She is a member of the journalism studies faculty and teaches communications law in the School. Davidson also serves as an adjunct professor in the MU School of Law.
Davidson, along with Suzette Heiman, were two of the 51 faculty celebrated for having 25 years of service at MU. Heiman is a member of the strategic communication faculty and also serves as the School’s director of planning and communications.
J. Brian Houston, an assistant professor of communication who holds a courtesy appointment at the School, was one of two to receive the Provost’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award. The award is given to junior faculty, who are in the early phases of their careers, for superior research and creative activity on the MU campus.
Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin and Interim Provost Ken Dean presented the awards during a Nov. 11 dinner at the Reynolds Alumni Center.
