Associate Professor Tim Vos Elected to AEJMC Leadership Position

He Will Serve on the Committee on Research; 3-Year Term Begins in August

Columbia, Mo. (May 16, 2016) — Associate Professor Tim Vos has been elected to a key standing committee of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. He will serve a three-year term.

Vos will serve as a member of the Committee on Research. Maria Len-Rios, PhD ’02, who teaches at the University of Georgia, was also elected.

The Committee on Research provides annual constructive reviews of activities of AEJMC divisions and interest groups in the area of research.

Vos, who joined the Journalism Studies faculty in 2008, has won several research awards, including the Best American Journalism Article in 2014. His research explores roles of journalism, media sociology and gatekeeping, media history, and media policy. Vos is co-author of Gatekeeping Theory and co-editor of Gatekeeping in Transition. He is the lead U.S. investigator for three international comparative projects.
