LIZ BENT‘s research interests center on the sociology of knowledge and identity performance – particularly within social media and online news formats. She is keenly interested in questions of how audiences interact and identify with news sources and journalists. How do audiences create and share knowledge with others? How do journalists as both news professionals and news consumers make meaning in their work and daily lives? What practical and ethical concerns arise for journalists practicing in an era of social media and how do they navigate the field of personal and professional identity and interactivity with news consumers in an online setting?
