JASMINE CHIEVOUS joins the Missouri School of Journalism from Northwestern State University where she served as the assistant athletic director for student-athlete development. Her duties included program supervision of student-athletes’ academic endeavors, personal development, community outreach, career development, and leadership training.

Jasmine has worked in similar roles at Fisk University, Troy University, and the University of Missouri. Jasmine earned a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology with emphases in Career Counseling and Sport Psychology from Mizzou in 2013. A Provost Scholar at Fisk University, Chievous earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish. Jasmine is a member of the National Association for Student-Athlete Development Professionals and is a Qualified Mental Health Professional.

In her spare time, Jasmine likes to work out, paint, read, and travel. Jasmine’s favorite quote is from one of her favorite authors, Dr. Maya Angelou: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
