Transfer Student Standards and Planning
No matter where you began, finish strong at the Missouri School of Journalism. We are here to work with you to provide a seamless transfer from community or four-year colleges.
General Transfer Credits to Mizzou
Finding out which of your courses will transfer is a huge part of the process. Learn how Mizzou makes the transfer process easier.
Journalism Course Transfer Policies
The School of Journalism accepts up to 12 journalism credits transferred from other accredited journalism programs or from Missouri colleges with which the School of Journalism has articulation agreements. Courses that are not part of an established agreement may be accepted on a case-by-case basis by the associate dean for undergraduate studies.
Requests for consideration can be sent to journalismstudentservices@missouri.edu. The request must include the course syllabus or syllabi.
Planning Resources
It is recommended that students who are considering transferring to the School of Journalism request a pre-approval to enroll in journalism-related courses at another college or university to ensure transferability.
The request should include the course syllabus. Requests for pre-approval can be sent to Journalism Student Services journalismstudentservices@missouri.edu.
