Internships and Career Services
The School of Journalism prides itself in making sure our students are career-ready upon graduation and offers a variety of resources to both students and alumni.
Internships
Every year, the School of Journalism places students in internships both locally and around the country including national media organizations such as NBC, CBS, CNN, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, The Los Angeles Times and ESPN to name a few. Several media companies visit the school each semester to interview graduating students for jobs in major newsrooms and our Strategic Communication faculty hold a job fair that more than 75 companies participate in to recruit our students.
Throughout the school year, Journalism students receive information each week about opportunities for internships and scholarships. All students enroll in an online web portal called MUConnect, where they can find a group called Journalism Undergraduate Advising. This ensures they receive the most up-to-date information concerning opportunities for Journalism students.
