Women of Mizzou: From the J-School to careers fueled by a passion for storytelling

You never know where a journalism career will take you. As Co-President for Women in Media and a member of the Honors College, I have fallen in love with the inherently interdisciplinary aspect of journalism–researching stories, developing campaigns and incorporating storytelling into topics ranging from business to medicine to engineering.
I particularly am inspired by networking and connecting with women who are like-minded in this regard. Women who thrive when they combine their journalism skillsets with other disciplines or interests.
This past year I embarked on a research project to find Missouri School of Journalism alumnae who are pursuing unconventional paths with their J-School degrees and impacting industries beyond the newsroom.
In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we’re paying tribute to the Mizzou women in media who are redefining what a journalism degree can do.
