How did you get your job?
I wrote until I learned the craft well enough for an editor to buy one of my books. Now I’m under contract with St. Martin’s Press.
What is the best professional lesson you learned at the J-School?
Write tight. Make every word count. It was a good lesson in J-School and is important when writing a novel as well.

Don’t be afraid to take the road less traveled.
What is your favorite J-School memory?
Doing Today Show cut-ins at KOMU.
Any parting comments?
I don’t know if I’d be where I am today without my J-School education.
