Degree(s): BJ '41

Whereabouts: United States, Kirkwood, Missouri

What do you do?
I am the retired editor of Farm & Power Equipment for National Farm & Power Equipment Dealers Association. I also served as editor of Gateway Heritage quarterly journal for the State of Missouri Historical Society. I also wrote articles for Popular Mechanics.

How did you get your job?
A suggestion that I might be of service to NFPEDA was made by a J-School staff member. The director of the historical society contacted me in person.

What is the best professional lesson you learned at the J-School?
To avoid photographing U.S currency that shows “too much” detail.

What advice do you have for current students?
Listen to and obey the J-School news room director.

What is your favorite J-School memory?
We scooped all of the other publications with photos of inauguration of new governor taking the oath of office back in 1941.

Any parting comments?
The J-School has been good to me. Every job I ever had came through the help of school personnel. They followed up with me after my military service in WWII and helped me get my last job as editor of Farm & Power Equipment in 1960.
