What do you do?
Pfizer Michigan is one of the research sites in the company. As corporate counsel, I assist scientists and management in bringing in research tools, regulatory and clinical trial issues and legal issues that arise on a day-to-day basis.
How did you get your job?
I got my job through a headhunter.
What was the best professional lesson you learned at the J-School?
I learned the importance of objectivity and seeing all sides of an issue.
What would be your best advice to current students?
Set goals and be persistent. Chart your own course and success is yours.
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
My greatest professional achievement was becoming corporate counsel for Pfizer Michigan only three and half years after graduating from law school. It’s been seven years now since I graduated from law school.
What makes you good at your job?
I enjoy the complexity of work and the diversity of work. Also, autonomy and decision-making is encouraged.
What are your next career steps?
I would like to learn more about regulatory and political issues affecting the pharmaceutical area.
What is something about you that may surprise people?
I have a website geared toward empowering women.
