Carl Corbin, BJ ’36

Carl Corbin, BJ ’36, died on Aug. 19, 2001, in New Orleans. He was one of seven Louisiana State University students who became known as the “Reveille Seven.” The group were expelled for refusing to allow Sen. Huey Long to censor their newspaper because of a letter to an editor that was critical of Long. Missouri Dean Frank L. Martin allowed the students to complete their studies at the School of Journalism. After military service, Corbin had a successful career in journalism.
