Carol (Davis) Frey, BJ ’71, writes: “In 2006, I retired with 35 years in newspaper journalism. When I finally decided to go for a master’s degree, Mizzou had to turn to the archives for my transcript! Fortunately for me, North Carolina State University accepted me into a master’s of liberal studies program. Over my three years there, I learned that journalism is fabulous preparation not only for life, but for higher education. In May 2013, I finished a program in Latin American studies with a 3.89 grade average – much better than I did at Mizzou. I hope that today’s graduates have as many – and better – opportunities as I’ve had.”
