Clyde Lear, MA ’68, was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame on Jan. 29 for his vision and leadership that helped turn Learfield Sports into the preeminent leader in college sports marketing. Lear is the retired chairman and CEO of Learfield Communications, which began as an outgrowth of his master’s project. It was there he laid out a model for creating a statewide network, a model that has worked for news, agriculture and sports.
