Edward L. Steele, BJ ’50, died May 14, 2016, in Corvallis, Oregon. He started his career as a member of the southwestern territorial advertising staff at Sears Roebuck and Company in Dallas and a year later, was named advertising manager for the Sears retail store in San Angelo, Texas. Steele then was employed by Nevada Publishing Company in Missouri as advertising manager of the Nevada Daily Mail and Herald. He was past president of the Missouri Advertising Managers Association. In 1966, Steele was appointed director of advertising sales and marketing for Missouri Press Service in Columbia and served in that capacity until his retirement in 1993. Steele also was a member of the board of directors of the Missouri Press Association Foundation.
