Jeff Sonderman, BJ ’04, has joined The American Press Institute in Arlington, Va., as deputy director. Sonderman was most recently the digital media fellow at The Poynter Institute. He previously worked as the managing editor of TBD.com, a digital news operation in Washington, D.C. As deputy director, Sonderman will explore how digital technology can be used to develop additional revenue sources for news media and to create new best practices for newsgathering. He will act as a liaison to training partners, including Poynter, and help shape the research and educational work of the American Press Institute. Sonderman began his career as a business writer at The Times-Tribune in Scranton, Pa.
