Jim Harnar, BJ ’75
Jim Harnar, BJ ’75, retired from the Daniel Hanley Center for Health Leadership in Portland, Maine, after heading the nonprofit organization for the past decade. After three years as a newspaper reporter in Colorado in the late 1970’s, Harnar joined the Navy, subsequently serving 25 years of active duty and in the Naval Reserve. He retired from the Navy in 2003 with the rank of Captain. Before helping to found the Hanley Center, Harnar was vice president of the Maine Hospital Association and president of Onpoint Health Data. An avid sailor, he and his wife Kathleen plan to spend considerable time cruising on their 38′ sloop.
