Lisa Gurevitch Cohen, BJ ’88, of Atlanta, supervising producer at CNN International, helped lead the launch of the CNN Freedom Project, a commitment to cover the issue of human trafficking. In its first six months, the television network aired more than 100 stories of modern-day slavery across five continents, using CNN’s global reach and resources to raise awareness of an issue that had previously not been at the forefront of mainstream news coverage.
