Rick Ramseyer, MA ’85
Rick Ramseyer is a freelance writer. His first book, “Girl Without a Country: The Untold Story of a Landmark Fight for U.S. Citizenship,” will be published in August by Purdue University Press. The book tells the story of Rick’s grandmother, Martha Graber Landes, a Mennonite, registered nurse and conscientious objector who was twice denied citizenship in 1929 for her refusal to kill in defense of the nation, setting up a climactic third hearing that was covered by newspapers nationwide. Rick is a former newspaper reporter, magazine staff writer and corporate communications manager.
