Scott Mulford, MA ’77, was appointed editor of Catholic Times, the official newspaper of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, effective July 1, 2014. Mulford joins Catholic Times from the Office of the Illinois Attorney General where he served as press secretary in the Springfield office. Prior to that, Mulford was public information officer at the Teachers’ Retirement System, and news and program executive at commercial and public television stations in Illinois and Missouri. He began his career at KTTN/Trenton, Missouri, and has also held adjunct faculty appointments at Lincoln Land Community College, University of Illinois Springfield, Western Illinois University and Culver-Stockton College. The Diocese of Springfield is 130 Catholic parishes in 28 counties in central Illinois.
