Seth Fletcher, MA ’04, is the author of Bottled Lightning: Superbatteries, Electric Cars, and the New Lithium Economy (Hill and Wang). The book provides a historical overview of the development of the rechargeable lithium battery and shows how the technology enabled the proliferation of cell phones and laptops and is now helping revive the electric car. Fletcher’s book was reviewed in the the Wall Street Journal, Nature, Foreign Policy and elsewhere.
