Valerie Mosley, MA ’10, and other staff members of the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader staff were recognized with a prestigious award by Gannett, the parent company of the News-Leader, USA Today and many other newspapers and media organizations across the country. They received the Greater Good award, which annually recognizes one news organization’s outstanding dedication to the greater good of the community it serves. Mosley received the employee award for visual journalism for her Children in Poverty series, part of the larger Every Child project, which focuses attention on the welfare of children in the Springfield area.
