Wally Poor, BJ ’57, has published a book titled “Faithful.” The book tells the story of six Southern Baptist missionary couples who started their careers together in 1968 in missionary orientation and all retired at the same time in 2001. This includes the Poors 26 years as missionaries in Uruguay and five years as the International Mission Board’s overseas correspondents in the Americas. Wally’s wife is Betty (Magee) Poor, BJ ’57. The book was published by CrossBook Publishing. The other families in the book went to Lebanon, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Kenya. The Poors are now retired in Florida.
