For the past 50 years, Chapnick has been the driving force behind Black Star, one of the most respected international photographic agencies. From 1964 until recently he served as Black Star’s president. Chapnick has been a regular member of the Missouri Photo Workshop and a very strong supporter of the Pictures of the Year awards. He is currently working with the International Center of Photography in New York on a pro bono basis.
