Navajo Times

The Navajo Times is the official newspaper of the Navajo Nation. With a circulation of 17,500, it is distributed throughout the Four Corners region and as far afield as France, Italy and Japan. The paper was created in 1959 by the Navajo Tribal Council and is owned by the Navajo Nation, but the news section exercises the rights of press freedom contained in both the U.S. and the Navajo Nation bills of rights. Plans are now underway to separate the Navajo Times from the tribal government, allowing it to grow and improve its service to the Navajo people.
