United Church of Christ
A powerful voice in the broadcast industry, the Office of Communication has been at the forefront of FCC license renewal challenges, participated in legal actions, and lobbied for equal access for everyone. Best known for its intervention in the 1968 Red Lion Broadcasting case, the office supports legislative and judicial action emphasizing viewer involvement and participation in the licensing process and related areas. The office started its work helping women, children and the church. It has since expanded its efforts in an advisory role on equal employment opportunity and communications franchising.
