Katie Swon serves as The Missouri School of Journalism’s Reynolds Journalism Institute’s Senior Business Operations Associate where she oversees the fiscal operations for RJI.

Before coming to RJI, Swon served as the director of accounting and sourcing at Guardian Products, Inc., a manufacturing company located in rural Missouri. It was at Guardian that she not only honed her accounting skills, but also found her passion for fiscal management and improving efficiencies.

Swon received a master’s in business administration from the University of Missouri and bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting from Columbia College.

She resides in Auxvasse, Missouri, with her husband, Austin, and their two children Will and Ella. She is an avid Kansas City Chiefs and University of Missouri Tigers fan, and in her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time outdoors.
