Kesley Kobielusz
KOMU Sr. On Air Talent
Kesley Kobielusz’s passion for weather started in 2011 after her house was missed by barely a mile by the Good Friday Tornado. In the days after, she volunteered with her mom and her coworkers to make sack lunches and collect donations from local businesses to help rebuild our community. These were the moments when she decided that she wanted to make a difference and help people prepare for the weather for the rest of her life.
Growing up in the suburbs of St. Louis, Kobielusz spent a lot of time in mid-Missouri for various camps and competitions; however, she never saw herself attending MU until she visited and immediately fell in love with the beautiful campus and community.
Kobielusz is very shy and never saw herself becoming a broadcast meteorologist. She always wanted to stay behind the scenes, but her sophomore year she decided to go out of her comfort zone and apply for an internship at KOMU 8, and she’s never looked back.
When Kobielusz is not at the station, you can find her playing the clarinet in Marching Mizzou, sipping coffee at one of Columbia’s fabulous coffee shops, or enjoying a nice walk with her dog, Doppler. If you see them out and about, please come and say hello! She is super excited that she has started my career here at KOMU 8.
