Meredith Hood
Assignment Editor
Meredith Hood is the Assignment Editor for KOMU 8 News. She joined the newsroom at the start of the Fall 2025 semester after working for three years as a senior television news producer at a different news station in mid-Missouri.
Hood is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. As a student, she wrote for both The Missourian and Vox Magazine. She also worked for the Mizzou Rec membership team and as a Leadership Adviser in the Department of Residential Life. In 2015 she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies alongside a Bachelor of Journalism. Two years later, she began a graduate school program at Stephens College. She was awarded a Masters of Fine Arts specializing in Screenwriting for Film and Television in May of 2019.
Outside of work she enjoys visiting New York City, going to concerts and thrifting vintage cameras.
