Pranaav Jadhav
Pranaav Jadhav is a doctoral student and graduate assistant at the Missouri School of Journalism. A native of India, he holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Mississippi State University, and a master’s degree in communication & information science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Pranaav has worked at The Leaf-Chronicle in Clarksville, TN, and the Tennessean as the government and investigative reporter, covering stories related to the city/county governments, school board, public infrastructure, local politics, and the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell. He has spent time as a news producer, rundown editor, and reporter in Mumbai for India’s largest media network – Republic Media. He also worked as the copy editor, and producer on the desk of one of India’s leading dailies – Hindustan Times.
During his stay in Knoxville, Pranaav worked as a producer and writer on a documentary on Senator Howard Baker with director Nick Geidner for Emmy-nominated, Telly-award-winning Land Grant Films. ‘Baker for America’ will be premiering in October 2024 on regional PBS in Tennessee.
Pranaav has taught undergraduate courses at the Indira School of Communication in Pune, Maharashtra, and the studio portion of the Practicum in TV news class at Mississippi State University.
Pranaav’s research interests include local news, and community journalism through the media sociology lens.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his daughter Rayva, his cricket bat, and enjoys cooking spicy Maharashtrian food.
