Shawn Beal

Shawn Beal serves as a Systems Support Analyst Specialist for the Missouri School of Journalism. A natural “restorative learner,” Shawn thrives on moving past quick fixes to diagnose and solve the root causes of complex technology challenges.

With over four years of dedicated IT support experience at the University of Missouri—spanning both DoIT and the Trulaske College of Business—Shawn is highly skilled in managing enterprise infrastructure, cross-platform environments (Windows, Mac, Linux), and advanced classroom AV systems. Beyond university tenure, Shawn brings more than two decades of specialized experience as a self-employed System Administrator and Electroencephalogram (QEEG) Technician, giving them a unique perspective on data security (including HIPAA and PCI compliance), hardware diagnostics, and high-stakes troubleshooting.

At the J-School, Shawn is dedicated to keeping critical learning environments seamless, managing user expectations with a calm, solution-oriented approach, and ensuring faculty and students have the robust technological foundation they need to succeed.
