Gordon Young, MA ’90, is a San Francisco-based freelance journalist and a senior lecturer in the communication department at Santa Clara University. He is the author of “Teardown: Memoir of a Vanishing City,” which chronicles his attempts to buy a house in the most dangerous city in America. It will be published by the University of California Press in April 2013.
