David Hertz, MA ’86
David Hertz, MA ’86, has been promoted to managing director at Dix & Eaton, an integrated communications consultancy specializing in media relations, investor relations, crisis communications and marketing communications in Cleveland, Ohio. Hertz previously helped lead the Akron (Ohio) Beacon Journal’s coverage of some of the most significant stories that arose during his 15 years at the paper. He proposed and helped organize the newspaper’s Pulitzer-Prize winning investigation into race relations after the Rodney King-based riots of the 1990s. Hertz served as the newspaper’s business editor as well as metro editor. Earlier in his career, Hertz worked for Knight Ridder’s Boca Raton (Fla.) News for five years.
