Shantell Agoreyo is a Doctoral Student and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Missouri School of Journalism, with a research focus on emerging technology and ethical implications for journalism. She aims to shed light on the interplay between technology, journalism, and society, hoping to develop ethical frameworks and best practices for the responsible use of technology in journalism.
Shantell is a social media influencer, fashion blogger, and content creator. She is passionate about leadership and change, winning several awards and taking up various leadership positions, her latest being the Assistant Director of Engagement and Outreach for the Graduate Professional Council (GPC) at the University. She also loves storytelling. Her latest documentary, “Barter”, is about the Trade by Barter market still practiced in Ugbokodo, Delta state, Nigeria. It was shot and edited entirely on her iPhone 13.
She earned her master’s degree in journalism in 2022 from the historical University of Chester, England, and her bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the great University of Benin, Nigeria.
Outside of work, Shantell enjoys YouTube and creating Christian content about her faith, coupled with shooting lifestyle videos — vowing to live her best life, promoting happiness and good vibes.
